Day 0

Wake up call was 3:16 ¾ so Amanda and I got 3 hours of sleep. We arrived at school at 4:11 for bag check. (A cop came because there were 75-100 teenagers causing disturbances around town.) We finished quickly and got hot chocolate before heading to the airport.

We waited there a couple hours before saying goodbye to parents and checking in bags. Our flight was at 8 and it had two rows of three (I hate those). I was in the middle again but actually sat next to a fellow gypsy.

During take off I had a headache and felt so groggy that I had to sleep. It only took a half our to really help. The rest of the flight I dozed, ate snacks, and read the “Bible”. Oh, and of course I got a bloody nose at landing. I already need to wash my shirt…

After the 5 hour flight we arrived at JFK, New York. We took a break and Amanda, Ashley, and I played Asshole, Idiot, and Egyptian War.

Then we boarded a much nicer plane with 2-3-2 seating and free head-phones. The other plane didn’t even have pillows. Srsly. Also, I sat next to Yuridia again.

So then we ended up sitting on the plane for an extra 2 or so more hours. Apparently some people had to be left behind and they had to search for 14 bags on the plane. Then all the other planes had to go before us making us later. By then the sun was setting and was a vibrant red. Eventually they let us go. By then it was dark and New York was just a bunch of golden lights. ‘Twas very pretty.

I took another picture with the sun lower... but that is currently lost as well. I also didn't have a good shot at when it was vibrant red.
